Mobility as an Ecosystem

Our latest e-paper is here! Sharing Map’s thoughts on mobility as an ecosystem, combining people, products and technology.

Mobility is one of the undisputed economic titans of our global economy. According to statistics aggregator IBIS World, three of the top 10 global industries in 2020 related to automotive alone, and when you add shipping, aviation, rail and public transport to the mix you have a sector that runs into the trillions. This financial might is testament to the powerful human desire to connect, migrate, trade and travel.

We spent much of the pandemic talking about the ‘future of’ but what are the actual tangible changes that we can expect in mobility, beyond two years with Covid-19 our global landscape is also shifting via seismic changes across all of the facets of our daily lives. From increased urbanisation to an energy crisis and a rise in technological innovations that champion high-profile design at the expense of human needs and community functions.

Download our e-paper here to read Map’s thoughts on the challenges facing mobility and how design can be used as a tool to implement meaningful change.
