E-Paper 1: The Future of Ambient Technology

Map Project Office

In June, we published our first e-paper on the Future of Ambient Technology in the Home. Looking at the current landscape of products and our changing habits and needs, the team discusses new product archetypes and the role industrial design will play in the success of ambient tech devices in the home and how this in turn may enable new behaviours.

CNN Style covered the paper and looked more broadly at how integrated devices have become a mainstay in our homes. Map Director Jamie Cobb was interviewed for the piece and shared thoughts on how 'ambient technology will be sensitive to our movement, gaze, posture, body language, heat biometrics, and the nuances in our tone of voice'. Disegno Publications has also republished an extract on its newly relaunched website - You can download and read the full e-paper here.
