map project office is an industrial design studio defining new ways of interacting with technologies. We take a strategic approach to designing products, systems, and spaces.

We work across diverse fields and multiple scales, from small, everyday objects to visionary systems. At the core of every project is our curiosity about the interplay between people and technology.

Our process is rigorous, strategic, and exploratory. With our in-house workshop, we translate ideas into physical prototypes by hand to quickly learn and iterate. At map, we design through making.

We partner with ambitious clients at the forefront of their field, from exciting start-ups to global brands. Together, we expand the possibilities of people–technology relationships, designing meaningful human interactions that shift how we live.

extending our foundations

map was founded by British designers Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby in 2012. As an independent yet connected practice, naturally, we share and respect Barber Osgerby’s design principles and ways of working. We appreciate the simplicity, purpose, and craft evident in their work. As well as their emphasis on experimentation, innovation, and exploration.

Here, we extend these foundations, unfolding what’s important to us: the elements that shape how we do what we do.
